Holistic Sustainable Development (HolisticSD) is a not-for profit (NFP) company limited by guarantee which has been established to be and to continue as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) and a charity. At HolisticSD we carry out public benevolence social and welfare programs, humanitarian & relief and vocational training projects. At HolisticSD we design and deliver niched sustainable development projects by adopting world-class best practices, technologies, business models, frameworks and processes.  Furthermore we are a 100% Australian organisation that is not affiliated with any other organization in the world.
HolisticSD's primary intention is to carry out it’s objectives for the benefit of people included but not limited to the following categories:

1.

The poor and those in need as a result of natural disaster such as earthquake, flood, tidal wave, volcanic eruption and the like or famine, drought, oppression and acts of warfare.

2.

The elderly and those unable to support themselves by reason of illness or disability, whether temporary or permanent.

3.

Children and youth-at-risk in need of support and care, including but not limited to medical aid or material support or the provision of education or day to day care giving

4.

Refugees.

The overall objectives of HolistcSD's SMART, holistic program, is to build long term sustainability and community resilience so that communities are restored to a condition of independence, self-reliance and dignity. We take the beneficiaries from the emergency scenario back to social, economic and ecological health.

The Team

DIRECTOR & CHAIRPERSON

GEOFF LAWTON

Geoff Lawton is a world renowned permaculture consultant, designer and teacher. He took his PDC in 1983 with Bill Mollison, widely considered the “father of permaculture. Geoff has specialised in permaculture education, design, implementation, system establishment, administration and community development since 1985. Working in over 50 countries, Geoff has taught more than 15,000 students, he established the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia and Zaytuna Farm which is Geoff and Nadia’s family home. As an award winning Permaculture Designer, Geoff’s main aim is to drive the establishment of self-replicating educational demonstration sites across the globe.

DIRECTOR & CHAIRPERSON

Angela Peime

Angela completed her PDC online in 2017. She became a resident with her family at Zaytuna Farm the following year so that her children could share their homeschooling experience with Geoff and Nadia’s family in a wholesome environment. She has been homeschooling her children for seven years. Before homeschooling her children, Angela had an expensive hobby of university studies in Communication, Education, and Arts majoring in Linguistics. Angela seeks to contribute to the world through encouraging parents and their children to focus their education on growing in character through God-consciousness, a rich education, and of course permaculture.

DIRECTOR

HASSAN ELSETOHY

Hassan Elsetohy is an Australia-based professional with multiple qualifications. He is an engineer, Permaculturist, business architect, a Sheikh, community leader, strategist & a technologist.
Hassan holds a number of qualifications including Bachelor of Engineering, Masters of Engineering, Masters of Business Administration, Permaculture Design Certificate, Bachelor of Islamic Sciences and Arabic Language - Theology.
